We believe in utilising a range of environments, and experiences, to enhance the learning experience for our students. We provide students with learning opportunities in the local community and environment. We request blanket consent for your son to go on low risk trips throughout the year. Destinations may include: Local businesses, museums, Taylor River, Pollard Park, Blenheim CBD, local primary schools. I agree ICT Agreement * This agreement includes technology that is approved to be brought from home to assist students with their learning as well as school resources provided to assist the education of students. The College will not take any responsibility for loss or theft of items brought from home. If students bring personal electronic devices to College, it is at their own risk. All personal electronic devices are to be switched off and out of sight before entering the classroom unless a specific arrangement has been made with a teacher. Failure to observe this requirement will result in confiscation of the item concerned until the end of the day. A second incidence requiring confiscation will result in parent/caregiver having to collect the item at the end of the week. By logging on to the school’s network, you are agreeing that you have read and will abide by the following terms and conditions of use: 1. You must not disclose or share your password and log-on details. 2. Do not use someone else’s password and log-on. 3. Network use must be directly related to your school work. 4. Do not download or store images, videos, music or games that are not part of your school work. 5. Do not print material that is not course related. 6. Respect the rules of copyright and creative commons (do not use file sharing sites). Infringing copyright is illegal and can result in $15,000 fines. 11. Subscriptions to electronic mailing lists are not allowed without direct teacher permission. 12. Do not download utilities, zip files, screen savers or executable files, without teacher permission. 13. Do not attempt to bypass any content filtering or restrictions. 14. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, programs, data or files. 15. Do not intentionally seek information on, obtain copies of, or modify files, data or information belonging to other users; without the other user’s express permission. Do not vandalise the network. Vandalism is defined as any malicious attempt to harm, modify, or destroy computer hardware, data or files. Vandalism includes: All intentional physical damage to hardware. Uploading or the creation of computer viruses. Attempts to breach the security of the network. All intentional damage to software and operating systems. By logging on to the school’s network, you also understand that the school has access to all content that you have generated on the network and can track all the sites you have visited while on the network. The school’s network and ICT equipment are tools to assist you and your fellow students to learn, therefore anything that interferes with that learning, damages equipment or the network, and any activity that is not part of your course work is not permitted. I agree Parent/Guardian Undertaking * I hereby undertake to observe the conditions and expectations as outlined in the Prospectus and Enrolment Form, so far as they affect me and the pupil enrolled. Student’s property should be covered under their parent/s’ Home Contents Insurance. College insurance only covers the property of the Board of Trustees. I agree Declaration * I confirm that the information contained in this enrolment application is true and correct in every respect and the enrolling student shall be subject to all rules, regulations and expectations of the College. I confirm that I will advise the College if for any reason there is a subsequent change of details. I agree Leaving Documents * Address and phone number details are collected at the time of enrolment and during the student’s time at school so that the school can contact the parent or student as necessary. These contact details may also be passed on to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). This is so young people who may have difficulty finding future employment, training or further education can be identified and offered support by organisations contracted by MSD to help re-engage young people in education or training when they leave school. I agree to my contact details being passed on to the Ministry of Education. I agree Bus Code of Conduct * This Code of Conduct is between the student, their caregiver, bus operator and Marlborough Boys' College. The caregiver and the student should ensure they have read and understood this document, which is to be adhered to for the safety of the bus driver and all students travelling on the school bus. The student will agree to abide by the behavioural expectations described below: • When I am a seated passenger, I will remain in my seat for the whole journey. • I will not eat on the bus or throw anything inside or out of the bus. • I will not smoke, vape or drink on the bus (with the exception of water). • If I am a standing passenger, I will stand quietly and not push or move around the bus. • I will respect other students and their property at all times (this includes pushing, verbal or physical abuse, or any other behaviour that may distract the driver). • I will use socially acceptable language when conversing with the driver and/or other students and I will not speak at a volume that may distract the driver. • I will respect the property of the bus operator at all times (e.g. refraining from standing on seats or vandalising the vehicle in any way). • I will not engage in any behaviour that could put the driver or other students at risk. • I will observe the requirements and instructions of the bus driver and the teacher/s responsible for bus duty at all times. • I understand that any damage I cause to the bus will result in my caregiver being billed for the cost of repairs. The safety and comfort of everyone on the bus depends on a standard of behaviour and consideration for others that is expected in the classroom. We hope that caregivers will support the school in maintaining these standards of behaviour. IF THIS CODE OF CONDUCT IS BROKEN: - The student will be placed on daily report for one week and the caregiver will be notified immediately - If no improvement is evident after one week, an interview will be arranged between the student, caregiver(s), and school. - If there is still no improvement, travel on a school bus will be withdrawn, and the caregiver will be required to find alternative transport to get the student to school. - In extreme cases of misbehaviour the privilege of travelling on a school bus could be withdrawn immediate!y.
